More about the book

More about the book:Painting to Poetry is more than a book — it’s a threshold. Here is an excerpt from the Introduction:Throughout history, artists have sought to bridge the gap between the visual and the verbal, using both images and words to express their deepest truths. Transforming a painting into poetry goes beyond mere translation; it represents an evolution of creative energy and a shift from one medium of expression to another. This process serves as a means of communication with the higher self, where intuition and deeper creativity merge, allowing the artist to convey the ineffable essence of their art through language. This transformation is not simply about describing a painting in words; it’s about capturing its spirit—the emotions, subconscious messages, and hidden symbolism—through poetry. By engaging in this creative act, artists unlock new layers of meaning, revealing aspects of their work that may have gone unnoticed, even by themselves. Both painting and poetry originate from the same source: the higher self. This intuitive, timeless part of us communicates through symbols, emotions, and metaphors, guiding our hands when we paint and whispering truths when we write. While painting comes from a place that often transcends words, with brushstrokes, colors, and composition telling a story without verbal explanation, the shift to poetry aims to translate feelings into rhythm and flow rather than merely describing what is seen.
To effectively navigate this transition, we must engage in synesthetic thinking—the ability to experience cross-sensory perception where color evokes emotion, emotion shapes sound, and sound dictates movement.

“The Shape of Becoming”

She stands, unfinished,
a body carved by light and distance, her form neither whole nor broken but
shifting between.
Flesh dissolves into color, soft golds and quiet blues weaving through her
skin like memories she has not yet named.
Her head tilts toward absence,
a face lost to the silence of motion,
as if turning away from something known or toward something just beyond
reach.
She is not waiting. She is becoming..

From Chapter I

“An artist cannot speak about his art any more than a plant can discuss horticulture.”
-Jean Cocteau
I was once asked to explain my artwork, and I was at a loss for words. I tried to invent a story, a reason for each painting’s existence, but the narratives I came up with felt contrived—even amusingly absurd. I could sense that the people listening knew this too. Unable to put my work into words, I resorted to imagination, hoping they would understand. At the time, I believed it was nearly impossible to describe my art logically. But gradually, I began to notice something that had always been there—an underlying thread connecting all my pieces: change, transformation, and the dissolution of identity. Recognizing this pattern gave me a language for what once felt indescribable. In doing so, I also discovered how this theme shapes my artistic voice, creating an alternate form of art alongside conventional narratives.
The descriptions and poems accompanying my artwork emerged through a process of synesthetic translation—an effort to find words for images and emotions that resist direct expression. I used language tools, including AI, as mirrors to reflect and refine the sensory language of my paintings. These tools did not replace my voice; they helped reveal it in another form.
